Focaccia Bread Recipe For Fancy Sandwiches Or perhaps a Traditional Appetizer

Focaccia bread is surely an Italian flat bread enhanced with herbs, cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, and/or olives. It can make a pleasant appetizer and will be used to make sandwiches. It comes down to an extremely basic dough you can use for a pizza crust, but, after having a slightly different preparation and added toppings, it becomes focaccia bread.

You have some flexibility when coming up with focaccia bread to match your personal taste for toppings. It is possible to load up with everything or produce a very spare version with merely a little cheese and herbs.

Toppings:

1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil

To prepare the bread dough, dissolve the yeast within the domestic hot water and let it looking for 5 minutes. Then inside a large bowl, add the rest of the ingredients listed under bread dough. Stir up until a stiff sticky dough forms. Turn out onto a floured surface and knead for 10 mins until dough is smooth and no longer sticky.

Divide the dough in half and roll each bit into 1/2-inch thick rounds. Place the rounds into oiled cake pans. Cover the dough with oiled plastic wrap and enable it to go up in a warm location for about 1-1/2 hours.

After the dough has risen, heat your oven to 400 degrees F. Press on the dough within the pans along with your fingertips to create indentations throughout. Drizzle the dough using the 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil. Now add your best toppings.

Bake for about 25 minutes until golden brown. Consider the focaccia from the pans for cooling. You are able to serve the bread warm or let it cool entirely. To utilize the focaccia for sandwiches, slice the flat bread horizontally.
